Vastu

“Vastu Shastra” is a traditional Indian system of architecture and design that focuses on harmonizing buildings with natural forces. Rooted in ancient texts, Vastu guides the layout, design, and orientation of structures to promote health, prosperity, and well-being. It incorporates principles of directions, elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space), and energy flow to create a balanced living or working space.

Key aspects of Vastu Shastra:

  • Directional Alignment – Each direction is ruled by a deity and has specific influences. For example, the northeast is considered auspicious for pooja rooms, while the southwest is best for bedrooms.
  • Five Elements (Pancha Bhootas) – Balancing earth, water, fire, air, and space ensures harmony.
  • Energy Flow (Prana) – Proper placement of doors, windows, and rooms ensures positive energy circulation.
  • Building Shape & Layout – Square or rectangular plots and symmetrical designs are preferred for stability and growth.
  • Room Placement – Specific functions are assigned to rooms based on directional benefits.

Following Vastu principles is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and success in life. However, modern architecture often blends Vastu with contemporary design needs.
